Virtual Online Appointments
Video online appointments are perfect if you are unable to attend our clinic. We use Zoom or face time to connect with you in your own home, or a quiet & private space of your choice.
How do online video consultations work?
They are like clinic-based consultations but without the ‘hands on’ component of a clinic assessment but in the convenience of your own home. They can be just as effective and often more convenient than an appointment in person. We have been offering these since March 2020 and many patients have provided positive feedback.
Call or text 07956255427 to enquire.
What Will My Initial Consultation Entail?
It will include a period of discussion yo understand your presenting problem, medical history, and your goals of treatment. This will be followed by observation via video where you may be asked to perform some specific movements/ exercises to identify painful areas, weak or restricted movements. This will assist us in making a working diagnosis in the absence of manual testing by the therapist.
You will be provided with an explanation of the cause of your symptoms, self help strategies and a personalised treatment plan. We use Physiotec exercise software, which allows us to email you your programme and exercise videos to your own device. Therefore enabling you to have constantly available access whether at home or in the gym.
What Will My Follow Up Consultation Entail?
It is an opportunity for you to feedback on the effects of the agreed treatment plan provided and for you and your physiotherapist to review and progress the advice, self-help measures and exercises. If treatment goals are not being reached the reasons will be discussed and changes implemented.
A longer rehab appointment may be recommended by your physiotherapist where a supervised exercise session is indicated or if further assessment is required.
We will ensure all your treatment needs are met. So if at any point a referral on for a medical opinion is recommended the reasons and means to do so will be explained to you.
What Do I Need to Prepare Beforehand?
• If you have any letters or documents relating to your treatment, please email them to us beforehand or if you have registered to our online portal you can upload them there.
• You will need a device of your choice, good broadband in a quiet and private room.
• Before your appointment you will need to complete and return the registration andscreening forms sent to you.
• At present we use Zoom or facetime consultations. Please advise your preference.
• Dress in loose clothing to assist movement and visualisation of the affected area. Ideally you will have space to allow for movement tests in standing, sitting, and lying in view of your device.
